Borussia Dortmund are holding talks with the representatives of Real Madrid’s Goncalo Garcia.
Sport1 report that new sporting director Ole Book has made the 22-year-old striker his top summer transfer target.
They had that talks have been ‘promising’ but there is yet to be direct contact between the clubs.
Garcia thrilled after graduating from Madrid’s academy, making a name for himself under Xabi Alonso in the Club World Cup.
However, as is the norm at Real, his minutes have been blocked by Galactico signings Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr.
Also on Garcia’s mind will be the likely return of Endrick from Lyon, giving him even fewer minutes despite proving he’s more than ready for first team football.
How Garcia to Dortmund would work
As such, Dortmund are considering their options, with a permanent deal of around €60-€65million likely unaffordable.
Yet a straight loan may also be too simple, with BVB considering a purchase with a buy-back, the kind of deal that has benefitted the well-run Como.
Como bought Nico Paz from Real, and are now likely to make a profit when the Spanish side activate a buy-back clause in his contract this summer.
For Dortmund and Garcia, it could be a transfer fee of around €20m with a buy-back around €35m.
Garcia has scored six goals and registered three assists in 36 games this season, rarely playing the 90 minutes.
BVB look certain to lose the aging wantaway Serhou Guirassy this summer, with Milan, Tottenham and Galatasaray all considering bids.
Dortmund Director Book has already shown he’s not afraid of making big moves, having already signed Joane Gadou from Salzburg in a €20m deal.
