Jude Bellingham absent as Real Madrid reveal 2026/27 squad numbers

Real Madrid’s season has begun.

Los Blancos have two more friendlies before their August 22nd kick off, but everything is rounding out at training.

All but one of their players have now taken part at a session at Valdebebas.

Jude Bellingham, who reached the World Cup semi-finals with England, is the only first team player not to appear yet.

Real Madrid are almost ready to go

Winning finalist Marc Cucurella has, though, and has been joined by all of this summer’s new signings.

Those are Denzel Dumfries, Bernardo Silva and Ibrahima Konate.

All of the latest arrivals had to pass medical checks before training, which the club confirmed in a statement.

“Cucurella , Mbappé, and Konaté have already rejoined the Real Madrid squad after their participation in the World Cup,” they wrote.

“The three players underwent the first part of their medical examinations at Real Madrid City and will complete the remaining tests after training at the Blua Sanitas Valdebebas Hospital.”

None of the new latest additions will travel to face Deportivo La Coruña on Wednesday, but could be fit against Schalke at the weekend.

Madrid have also confirmed new shirt numbers for the 2026/27 season.

Cucurella will wear number 17, Konaté 16, Dumfries 24, Bernardo Silva 20, Carlos Espí 19.

Record €125million signing Yan Diomande will fittingly wear 25.

There have also been swaps, with Raúl Asencio and Dean Huijsen chosing higher-ranking numbers.

Asencio will wear number 2, while Huijsen will wear number 4. Cucurella takes over from Asencio, choosing number 17, and Dumfries takes over from Huijsen, so he will wear number 24.

Madrid players are also subject to three new rules under Jose Mourinho, curbing any misbehaviour.

Breakfast, lunch and snacks will now be set by the club, while the punishment for late arrivals is solitary training.

On top of that, players will only be allowed in-house medical treatment after Kylian Mbappe infamously went to France for a knee issue last season.
