Luis Enrique is a three-time European champion, becoming just the sixth man in history to achieve the feat.
The Spaniard went back-to-back with PSG, but in a far tougher contest than last year that required penalties to down Arsenal.
Before Ousmane Dembele’s equaliser it looked like Luis Enrique may have got his tactics wrong, with one surprise change, dropping Warren Zaire-Emery, and having Fabian Ruiz in midfield.
Later reflecting on the dropping, with Zaire-Emery also filling in at right-back this season, he apologised to the French youngster.
“I would like to emphasise one thing: I was very unfair to Warren today as coach,” he said post-match.
“He deserved to play in this final. He gave everything. He showed his character, he accepted my decision.”
Zaire-Emery made 54 appearances this season, more than any other PSG player.
He came on in extra time, and Luis Enrique added: “He showed in the minutes he had that he is a true professional and a very special person.”
