PSG are back-to-back European champions, becoming just the second side to do so in the Champions League era.
Luis Enrique’s side downed Arsenal in a far more even affair than their first last year when they demolished Inter Milan 5-0.
A 1-1 scoreline carried through to penalties where Arsenal twice missed to hand Paris the trophy back.
As was said often in the build up, PSG felt two titles was far more than just twice as big as a single one, and would cement legendary status for the squad.
Well they’ve done that, and foot.mundo has collated the best quotes in reaction…
Luis Enrique
“This is even more special than last year because we knew before the match how difficult it would be to play against Arsenal. For us, as a team and as a city, it’s incredible to win, and I think it’s a well-deserved achievement after the entire season. The final was very tough. But now it’s time to celebrate with our fans.
“It was a tough match. They’re a very competitive team, and they started the game in the best possible way, with a bit of luck from that early goal. In Paris, we’re lucky, and it comes in handy sometimes.
“Penalties aren’t about luck; they depend on the quality of the players and the goalkeepers. I lost the penalty shootout against Morocco, and I was crucified for it.
“We deserve to win this final, although I also think Arsenal deserved it. I’ve only ever seen Real Madrid do this. The first one was historic, and this one will be even more so.
“I have to stop these players from training. And they keep training and training… This team will compete at the highest level next year. These players are different. When you enjoy what you do, it doesn’t cost anything.”
Marquinhos
“It’s incredible. We said: once is historic, twice is legendary . That was our motivation since we came back from vacation.
“The coach told us that the second time would be even harder. And it was. It was a long season, we worked hard, we suffered a lot, we had difficulties at the beginning of the season.
“The team hit its stride at the right time, and that’s what allowed us to reach this point. With this team, we can achieve great things.
“A third victory? We have a coach who will push us for it. First, we have a very important World Cup. It’s another season where there won’t be much of a break, I hope!
“But as soon as we arrive, the coach will know how to manage things, just like he did this season. He carefully managed the players’ playing time to ensure we have a full squad.
“We can’t stop now; we’ve won two titles, we have to stay hungry, otherwise the club will fall into a slump, which we don’t want. PSG deserves to experience great things.”
Ousmane Dembele
On his substitution: “It was cramps, all the players had them at the end!”
“It was difficult, the whole season was difficult, but in the end we’re still winners.”
Desire Doue

“I’m speechless. The first one was exceptional, but we had this desire, more than anything, to go for the second and make history again, to become legends. And that’s what we did.”
On the fans: “We thank them. They’ve been there all season. Since PSG was founded, they’ve been there, pushing us forward, in the tough times, in the good times. Tonight, we thank them.
“I love this club so much, I love this club so much. And it’s not over yet! We’re going to keep working hard and we’ll go for the third title!”
Fabian Ruiz
“Who would have thought we’d make history, and so soon after?
“Winning two Champions Leagues in a row is incredibly difficult. Until now, only Real Madrid had achieved it, and now we have too. We did a fantastic job, we gave it our all. All these fans and all of Paris deserved it.
“Arsenal is a team that defends very well. They had one chance, they scored, and then they defended for the entire match.
“We played our game from start to finish; we didn’t change anything. I think football is fair, and the team that deserved it won. I’m really happy. This is incredible; we still can’t believe it, but now it’s time to enjoy it.”
Joao Neves
“Signing for PSG is the best decision I’ve ever made, I love everything about it. This year was different. It was more physical, more difficult, we had to defend our title. We’re part of PSG’s history, we’re all happy.”
President Emmanuel Macron
“A new star shines on Paris! Congratulations to PSG, who are making all of Europe dream. France is proud.”
