There were scary scenes at the end of FC Porto’s 2-1 win over Moreirense when Victor Froholdt was knocked unconscious by a clash of heads.
The Dane clashed with Guilherme Liberato in the final minute of normal time and lost consciousness on the Dragao pitch.
He regained consciousness during treatment and then was taken to the hospital, accompanied by the team doctor.
Record report that Froholdt spent the night in intensive care and has suffered a mild traumatic brain injury confirmed.
However, he has thankfully been discharged this morning.

Speaking after the incident, Porto coach Francesco Farioli said: “He’s in the hospital undergoing tests, but he seems fine. He’s conscious. The news is positive.
“The images are shocking, we were very scared, but he tested positive and will be examined. It seems it was just a scare. We’ll see tomorrow.”
Teammate and goalscorer William Gomes added: “Without my teammates I wouldn’t have been able to do it.
“This victory is very much Victor’s. He is conscious, he will undergo tests and, God willing, everything will be alright.”
The win made it five from five for Porto, and Farioli was pleased.

He added: “I liked the game. If we analyze the numbers and the opportunities we created, we realise that we could have scored four or five goals.
“The three shots on goal by Moreirense FC came from two of our mistakes that could have been avoided.
“We weren’t always able to cover everything, but I think we managed the game well.
“In the second half, they changed their approach. In the first half they were defending with a line of five and in the second half they started playing man-to-man, which allowed us to find the right solutions.
“I believe we played the way we should have played and that we managed to respond well to Moreirense FC’s adjustments.”
