Harry Kane is breaking so many Bundesliga records that he’s even taking on gongs from the 1960s.
The England captain scored and assisted in Bayern Munich’s 8-1 win over Wolfsburg and the goal was his 20th in the league this season.
That means that Kane has scored 20 or more in his first three Bundesliga campaigns – netting 36 on debut and 26 last season.
The only other man to achieve such a feat is Friedhelm Konietzka, who did so with Borussia Dortmund between 1963 and 1966.
Questions remain about Kane’s long-term future at Bayern, but noises from the player and club suggest he’ll be hanging around.
In his latest update, sporting director Max Eberl said of a contract extension: “He feels very comfortable with us, we love him, he feels at home in Munich – so what speaks against it?”
