Spain’s 2026 World Cup rivals will be laughing as a vicious Clasico between Real Madrid and Barcelona threatened to derail the national team once more.
Madrid won the first derby of the season 2-1 at the Bernabeu, but the real story was a full-time drama involving Lamine Yamal.
The Barca youngster sparked pre-match fury when commenting on a Kings League team saying they ‘steal and complain like Real Madrid’.
Reports emerged yesterday that Madrid captain Dani Carvajal would hold talks with Lamine post-match, but they now appear to be off the table.
Just before Vinicius Jr emerged at full-time to attack Lamine, telling him to ‘speak now!’ Carvajal made the same gesture.
Back in 2010 it was Xavi and Iker Casillas who calmed tensions during the Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho war, but with Carvajal in charge this time, Spain’s rivals will be laughing.
