One of football’s most infamous mothers, Adrien Rabiot’s mum Véronique has revealed all on her public confrontation with Kylian Mbappe’s dad.
The pair are both public figures in France due to the management of their sons, and that came to a head back in 2021.
At the COVID-delayed Euro 2020 tournament France experienced an early last 16 exit to Switzerland via a penalty shoot-out.
Mbappe was the guilty party with the only miss of the ten taken, and Veronique Rabiot was then seen gesturing furiously at his father Wilfred in the family area.
Reports at the time claimed the confrontation lasted 20 minutes, and was provoked after others had complained about Adrien Rabiot’s performance before the shoot-out.
Now finally explaining what happened, Veronique told L’Equipe: “It was greatly exaggerated.
“There were a lot of lies. Some people talked about scuffles. I simply whispered in Wilfrid’s ear that if it were my son, I would tell him off. And he told me he wouldn’t tell him off.”
Adding on how she treats her son, she said: “Once in Lithuania, I yelled at him after a match because I thought he hadn’t fought hard enough. I told him I hadn’t raised him like that.”
