As the name suggests, Vincent Kompany has in fact, got company.
According to BILD, the Bayern Munich head coach will be joined by one of the team’s sporting directors for all future press conferences.
The German outlet claims that Max Eberl or Christoph Freund will be present for pre and post-match press conferences going forwards.
The outlet claims that Bayern are worried that Kompany lacks the self-confidence of his predecessor Thomas Tuchel, and they want to avoid things unravelling in the future.
Kompany was far from Bayern’s first choice during the summer when they missed out on Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann and Ralf Rangnick, among others.
