The German football association’s [DFB] media team may have gotten themselves into trouble.
Germany are still reeling from a last 32 World Cup exit at the hands of Paraguay on penalties.
As a result, Julian Nagelsmann’s job is at risk, and Jurgen Klopp is the stand-out favourite to replace him.
Sky Germany have been reporting on the matter, and on one Instagram post journalist Florian Plettenberg said that Klopp would be open to the job.

Nagelsmann ‘on the brink’
Plettenberg’s Sky colleague and leading German football insider Patrick Berger has reported that Nagelsmann could well be sacked this week.
He claimed: “According to Sky Sport, no decision has yet been made.
“Following the initial analysis meeting between Neuendorf, Rettig, Völler, and Nagelsmann, a further in-depth analysis is planned.
“Reaching the round of 16 was the federation’s absolute minimum goal. The DFB leadership will meet in person in Germany.
“Decisions, including one regarding the coaching position, are expected by the end of the week.
“Nagelsmann’s dismissal is a serious possibility, and the national coach’s support within the DFB executive committee is crumbling.
“Furthermore, other consequences are possible: the DFB executive committee must also decide on the future of Rettig and Völler, for example. The sporting director had defended Nagelsmann after his embarrassing exit.”

Speaking after the exit, DFB President Bernd Neuendorf said: “After such a setback, we cannot and will not simply return to business as usual, given the tasks ahead.
“We agree that the performance at the World Cup does not meet our expectations.
“In the coming days, we will discuss together and calmly the reasons why the team was unable to realise its full potential and failed to meet its own expectations and those of German football.”
What has Klopp said about the Germany job?
Speaking after Germany’s knockout, Klopp said on TV: “I haven’t thought about it.
“I simply have to say: the most uncomfortable thing is that I’m the only person standing here who has been through this situation a hundred times before.
“After a huge dream has been shattered – like losing a Champions League final, for example – you have to stand there and find words.
“And ideally, everything that’s being said right now should be forgotten immediately. Then tomorrow, after everyone has had time to think, we can start again.
“I understand that when people talk about the national team coach, my name will naturally come up in some way.
“But this is not the moment to really talk about that. And certainly not with me.
“It’s a bit of a curiosity that I’m standing here. If I weren’t here, then… well, that’s fine. But there’s nothing to say about it.”
