Two time Saudi Pro League champions since the Public Investment Fund’s mass cash injection, Al Ittihad are in dissaray.
The 2023 and 2025 title winners ended up fifth this season, missing out on the top four and AFC Champions League.
Their position among the PIF’s top clubs was shown up in January when captain Karim Benzema left for Al Hilal, leaving them in chaos.
Sergio Conceicao arrived from Milan in October having won in Italy and repeatedly in Portugal, but A Bola now report he’ll depart as the season had finished.
They add that Conceicao had a contract to 2028, but a mutual separation will be announced today.
To make matters worse for Ittihad, Fabinho will leave for free.
One of their landmark signings after becoming a Liverpool legend with Champions League and Premier League wins, the defensive midfielder was allowed to go by Conceicao.
Ittihad spent €50million on Fabinho three years ago, and the 32-year-old has since been called up to Brazil’s World Cup squad, showing just what a loss he is.
