Real Madrid’s management held a meeting with the club’s main supporter groups to warn them against certain chants.
Madrid are already in trouble after one supporter in the club’s main Fan Stand behind the home goal was seen making a fascist salute before the win against Benfica.
The fan was identified and banned, but Madrid were given a €15,000 fine and threatened with a partial stadium closure.
UEFA had already warned Madrid for their chants against Pep Guardiola in December which were both homophobic and refereed to his drug ban while playing for Brescia.
Clearly worried that stricter penalty could be on its way, Marca report that José Luis Sánchez , Real Madrid’s director of social activities, held a meeting with the heads of the main supporters groups.
They were told not to chant against Guardiola, nor hold up Spanish flags that could be seen as nationalistic to the Catalan coach.
Madrid host Guardiola’s City in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie tonight.
