With six days to go until Real Madrid’s presidential elections, bombshell accusations from Florentino Perez have been released.
Perez, who has been in power since 2009, will take on green energy billionaire Enrique Riquelme on June 7th.
Perez is expected to win comfortably, but the latest revelations from radio station Rac1 could swing things either way.
The outlet played a recording from the National High Court when Perez was summoned to testify against former presidential rival Ignacio Sánchez Galán.
Speaking on November 14th, 2019, he says: “There are three things they’ve told me repeatedly.
“One, that the best thing is to make me disappear with an accident or a virus. I didn’t know you could disappear with a virus.
“Another thing they say is that we have to find the accounts Florentino Perez has outside of Spain, for which we would pay a lot of money.
“And the other, which is outrageous, is to find me a child.”
In the end, Sánchez Galán did not challenge Perez in an election, but the incumbent has since claimed he’s behind Riquelme’s 2026 pitch.
