PSG take on Bayern Munich over the next two weeks in a semi-final tie many believe will decide the Champions League.
Reigning champions Paris host the six-time winners on April 28th before heading over to Munich for the decider on May 6th.
Bayern are on a high having wrapped up the Bundesliga, while PSG are facing distractions having lost to Lyon, drawing them back into a Ligue 1 title race with Lens.
That defeat also presented them with more issues in the shape of Ballon d’Or finalist Vitinha.
Vitinha injury latest
The Portuguese received a knock from Endrick in the lead up to the second goal and had to be taken off minutes later, heading down the tunnel and removing his boot.
Speaking post-match, Luis Enrique said: “There’s nothing positive, that’s for sure.
“When you have to change a player like that before halftime… We’ll run some tests and see.”
PSG have since released a statement, adding: “Having suffered inflammation in his right heel after picking up a knock against OL last night, Vitinha will remain on the treatment table over the next few days, with a further assessment to be made towards the end of the week.”
UPDATE: PSG have since released the latest injury news.
They wrote: “Suffering from inflammation in his right heel following a knock during the match against Olympique Lyonnais, Vitinha will remain under medical care for the next few days.
“A further assessment will be carried out at the end of the week.
“Nuno Mendes continues his recovery work. Quentin Ndjantou continues his treatment protocol.”
Luis Enrique later added: “We will approach the situation calmly and prudently and wait to see how the injured players manage their comeback. But I don’t know.
“We have to treat Vitinha’s minor injury.”
PSG injury update
There was some positive news with Fabian Ruiz returning from a long-term injury against Lyon.
Nuno Mendes, who was injured in the quarter-finals against Liverpool, remains a doubt given the club’s latest update.
“Nuno Mendes is continuing his rehabilitation indoors,” the club wrote online.
As for Bayern, there was even worse news.
Gnabry injury news
Serge Gnabry has suffered an adductor injury in his right thigh and will be out “for an extended period.”
Bayern sporting director Max Eberl has now confirmed he’s out of the PSG clash, and even placed doubt on the World Cup.
“He’s very composed, very stable, but of course disappointed,” he said.
“When you’re 30 or 31, you probably still have a World Cup ahead of you. I don’t know how much longer he’ll be playing, but it could have been his last chance.
“I feel sorry for him because he would have played a very good role for the German team at the World Cup.”
UPDATE: Lennart Karl a doubt for PSG
With Gnabry out, Bayern could also miss one of his replacements in Lennart Karl.
The teen star has been out since April 4th with a muscle tear and was expected to have returned by now.
However, Kompany has ruled him out of this weekend’s game against Mainz and admitted PSG is a doubt.
“Right now he’s not available for the game against Mainz,” the coach said “We’ll see after that.
“Muscle injuries are a bit different than pain. With pain, I’d say, ‘My boy, that’s part of football,’ but muscle injuries are something else entirely. There’s a protocol for that.
“Sometimes it’s possible to get back in two or three days earlier than hoped, but you can’t expect miracles. That’s why we’re staying calm about it.”
