Endrick was the star of the show in Ligue 1 this weekend, downing league leaders PSG for Lyon’s standout result of the season.
The Brazilian Real Madrid loanee was the best player on the pitch against the treble-winners, scoring and assisting in a 2-1 victory.
Endrick has been in and out of the team in recent weeks, with OL coach Paulo Fonseca calling him out for not training properly after returning from the international break with Brazil.
Fonseca later said his comments were a motivational technique, and with Endrick since hitting form, he may have a point.
The player himself is also keen to move on.
Endrick talks Fonseca
“There are no problems with the coach. I don’t want to stay angry with him,” the teen star said in English post-match.
“We’ve talked. I need to give the best possible response on the pitch.”
Despite seemingly settling scores with Fonseca, Endrick did seem to have a problem with the hosts’ coach after the whistle.
In setting up the second goal he collided with PSG’s Vitinha who is now an injury doubt for their Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich.
And when walking back on the pitch after his late substitution, he appeared to be snubbed by an angry Luis Enrique.
Vitinha injury update
Asked about Vitinha in his press conference, the Spaniard said: “There’s nothing positive, that’s for sure.
“When you have to change a player like that before halftime… We’ll run some tests and see.”
