Noa Lang had a special mention for his former Napoli coach after a wonder display for Galatasaray.
The Dutch winger, who moved to Gala from Italy in January, was facing off against Juventus and scored twice in a stunning 5-2 Champions League win.
Sitting at home was his former coach Antonio Conte, who failed to guide Napoli out of the league phase, continuing his dire record in Europe’s top tier competition.
So if things weren’t bad enough for Conte, Lang made sure to make the Italian audience aware when speaking post-match.
“Here I have a coach who actually gives me confidence, which is nice,” the 26-year-old said.
“I don’t want to talk about the past, just about Galatasaray. Here I feel the love of the people, the club and above all the coach. I need to be appreciated.”
Lang also went on to critique his own performance despite his two goals.
“I thought I played sloppily and didn’t get much of a presence in the game,” he added.
“Normally, it’s the other way around: I’m very threatening and don’t score. This is good for once.”
Speaking about his new fans, he added: “I was really shocked by the atmosphere in the stadium.
“I already thought it was crazy in the league, but today… They whistled so loudly when the opponent had the ball, I had ringing in my ears.”
What else has Galatasaray’s Lang said about Conte?
Speaking at the start of the month to Dutch television, Lang said of Conte: “There was never a spark with him.
“My transfer to Galatasaray speaks for itself. I never really got along with the coach.
“I know many in Holland think it’s my fault, but sooner or later the truth will come out.
“I’m a Napoli player and I have great respect for the club. I’ve had an excellent relationship with almost everyone at the club.”
