Neymar may have played his final Santos match following another serious injury.
Brazil‘s all-time top scorer went off against Atlético Mineiro on September 14 and didn’t look in great condition.
Local reports now claim he has suffered a grade 2 injury to the femoral muscle of his right thigh, which has a prognosis of three months.
That could present a huge problem for the player and club, with Neymar’s contract up in December.
On top of that, the 33-year-old would then have only months to get up to full fitness ahead of the World Cup.
Carlo Ancelotti is yet to select Neymar, and recently said he’d only be recalled when he was 100% physically.
That was despite Neymar stringing together a regular run of games before his most recent ailment.
On top of Neymar’s worries, Santos are just four points above the relegation zone.
