Juventus captain Danilo will leave the club in the winter transfer window, head coach Thiago Motta has announced.
The defender is also Brazil’s captain and was one of the first names on the teamsheet for previous coach Max Allegri.
However, after just 16 appearances this season, half of which were from the bench, the former Manchester City and Real Madrid man will be released.
Motta announced the news in his press conference after a 2-1 Super Cup semi-final defeat to AC Milan.
“It is a decision taken for the good of everyone,” he said.
Antonio Conte’s Napoli have been linked with a move for the man who replaced Leonardo Bonucci as Juve captain in 2023.
