Bayern Munich’s outspoken honorary president Uli Hoeness can’t see Jurgen Klopp staying at Red Bull for long.
The Champions League-winning coach controversially signed up as Red Bull’s ‘Global Head of Soccer’ last summer after leaving Liverpool.
Bayern long chased the former Borussia Dortmund coach, and Hoeness gave thoughts on the switch, that didn’t go down well due to Leipzig’s status in Germany.
“I could never imagine him as an official traveling around the country, to New York, and looking after the different teams,” he said.
“And I don’t think that will be a good model in the long run. I also don’t think he’ll do that forever, I can’t imagine it.”
“I have always admired Jürgen Klopp as a coach who is on the pitch, who develops a team, who uses his personality to move a team forward.”
Asked why Bayern didn’t approach him, Hoeness responded: “I see Jürgen Klopp on the pitch and nowhere else.”
Who knows, maybe Liverpool will have a vacancy soon…
