There may be only one solution to Real Madrid’s powder keg of a dressing room.
Just days after Alvaro Carreras confirmed a training ground fight with Antonio Rudiger, there’s been yet another ahead of the Clasico.
Marca report that Fede Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni almost came to blows when a foul in training caused uproar.
In fact, the leading Madrid outlet adds: “It all started with a play, a foul that sparked one of the most heated exchanges ever seen at Valdebebas.
“The two players confronted each other, pushed one another, and had a heated argument that continued in the locker room.”
Madrid scramble for their next coach
It’s been a dire trophyless campaign for Madrid, and tensions are clearly high as things could get even worse this weekend.
Barcelona need just two more points to claim the LaLiga title, and could do so at home against arch rivals Real.
Much of the tension at Madrid has been around the dugout, with Xabi Alonso sacked and replaced by Alvaro Arbeloa with players complaining about Alonso’s discipline and attention to detail.
Madrid are now short of options for next season, but the strongly linked Jose Mourinho is being backed more than ever before due to the dressing room conflicts.
Leading Spanish radio host Manu Carreño said: “Every day that passes, I’m more convinced that Mourinho will be the next Real Madrid coach.
“There’s a real desire for a coach who can bring order to the dressing room.
“Right now, many people are telling you to bring Mou. Many say they just want someone who can bring order.”
Antonio Romero was slightly more cautious, adding: “To bring order to the dressing room, the coach must have the support of President Florentino Pérez from the beginning, and he must tell the dressing room that he is the one in charge.
“We must remember that José Mourinho had problems with all the heavyweights in the dressing room.”
While Javier Herráez thinks the appointment could blow up.
“Mourinho won’t be the one they want to settle a dispute,” he said.
“If you have a fire, you don’t call an arsonist, you call a firefighter. Real Madrid will know that.”
