Jose Mourinho reportedly held a video call with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez yesterday.
The pair spoke over Mourinho returning to the Bernabeu next season, according to Esdiario and Sergio Valentín, a journalist for Esradio.
The meeting reportedly lasted an hour, with Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes present but not speaking.
The journalist claims that while Mourinho didn’t rule out a return, he certainly didn’t say yes either, instead laying out strict terms for a possible comeback.
Rather than financial bonuses, he wants guarantees ‘related to the sporting, medical, organizational and disciplinary aspects of the Real Madrid team’.
Perez is expected to respond to Mourinho’s demands next week, while in the meantime, the coach continues preparing for a stay at Benfica.
Benfica plot Mourinho stay
A Bola out of Portugal claim that Mourinho is preparing the summer transfer window alongside president Rui Costa and sporting director Mário Branco.
The main topic is Braga’s Rodrigo Zalazar, who has been one of the stand-out players in the Primeira Liga this season in an attacking midfield role.
The Uruguayan will reportedly cost around €30million, while Benfica continue to plot other reinforcements along with their coach.
Priorities remain a central midfielder, with Issa Doumbia of Venezia already speaking to the club.
A new centre back will also be signed even if Nicolas Otamendi leaves, while upgrades on the wing and in the striker position are also being discussed.
