In the league Botafogo finished sixth, qualifying them for the Libertadores preliminary rounds.
John Textor’s side said in a statement: “Davide Ancelotti is no longer the coach of Botafogo.
“Botafogo informs that Davide Ancelotti is no longer the coach of the main team. The physical trainer Luca Guerra and the assistants Luis Tevenet and Andrew Mangan are also leaving. The decision was made after meetings this Wednesday (17).
“The Club thanks Ancelotti for his professionalism and commitment during the period in which he led the team and was part of the alvinegra family. Botafogo wishes him success in future challenges.
“The new technical commission will be announced shortly.”
Ancelotti leaves with a record of 14 wins, 11 draws and seven defeats in all competitions.
