Alarm bells are ringing at Eintracht Frankfurt after a pre-season humiliation.
The Bundesliga side were torn to bits 7-0 by Brentford, making any ‘it’s just pre-season’ caveats redundant.
Frankfurt have come off a dire season where famed sporting director pporting director Markus Krosche showed his powers may be dwindling.
The Eagles sacked Dino Toppmoller and then took a disastrous punt on Albert Riera for a few months.
Now they’ve gone back to what they know in former coach Adi Hutter, but hopes aren’t high.
Local outlet Frankfurter Rundschau described the match as a “debacle” and a “beating,” declaring that the team and coach are now on “red alert.”
They then attacked Krosche, saying he had “not done his homework well enough.”

They finish by saying it’s ‘too late’ to fix the problems of this summer, and now there are more fears of a humiliation when there season starts with a DFB Pokal match against fourth-division St. Tönis.
The only positive is that captain Robin Koch suffered an injury that isn’t as bad as first thought.
The defender has been diagnosed with a concussion and no further damage.
To make matters worse for Krosche, he spent much of the summer flirting with AC Milan, only for Frankfurt to refuse an exit.
Adi Hutter responds to Eintracht Frankfurt humilation
Giving his take after the Brentford humiliation, coach Hutter said: “We were clearly shown our limitations.
“0-7 – that’s unacceptable, even in a friendly, there’s no need to discuss it. That’s not acceptable.
“The disappointment with what we showed is enormous. It hurts a lot.
“We were clearly outmatched physically, in terms of challenges, speed – we didn’t perform as we should have in any aspect.”
“Discussing individual players is completely pointless. None of us performed as we should.
“We’ve been given homework. There’s still a lot to do, everyone knows that. I’ve always emphasised that internally.
“The important thing is that everyone has seen what we’re lacking. We’ll do everything we can to assemble the best possible squad so that we’re competitive.”
