Cesc Fabregas has made sure he won’t be joining Inter Milan any time soon, and neither will Nico Paz.
The Como coach, who has long been chased by Inter, responded to his Serie A rivals for tapping up his star man.
In a radio interview, Inter legend and vice president Javier Zantetti said of Paz: “I like him a lot for his playing style and for the person he is.
“I’m lucky enough to know his father, who was my roommate at the 1998 World Cup.
“In these two years in Italian football, he has demonstrated his quality.
“He is on his way to becoming a great player. Great players are, without a doubt, highly sought after by big clubs.”
Those comments were put to Fabregas ahead of the final Serie A match of the season, and he didn’t hold back.
“Zanetti doesn’t work for Real Madrid or Como, we must show respect,” he said.
“The only thing I know is that Nico won’t play for Inter.”
Paz was sold to Como from Madrid with a buy-back clause that Real will reportedly activate once the season has finished.
Fabregas added of the Argentina international: ” I’m sorry. Zanetti was a very important person in football, he knows the dynamics well.
“I know Ausilio and Baccin well. I know they’re the ones making the decisions.
“Throughout the season there have been photos, messages, and more.
“Ultimately, Nico is 50% a Como player. The only club that can say anything about that is Real Madrid.”
He finished: ” Nico Paz will return to Real Madrid or play for Como next year.
“We’re happy with him, we’ll see what happens in four or five weeks.
“We’re trying to see if he’ll be there [this weekend] or not. But he deserves to play, he’s helped us a lot.”
