Bayern Munich’s Max Eberl has refused to deny a get-out clause in Harry Kane’s contract.
News broke earlier in the week that Kane has a clause that becomes active in the summer of 2026 that would allow him to join a Premier League team for €60million.
The news obviously took headlines, with Kane second in the league’s scoring charts during his time with Tottenham.
The England captain left to finally end his career-long trophy draught in Munich, but has recently complained about the ‘thinness’ of the current squad, and top targets Florian Wirtz and Nick Woltemade have chosen England over Bayern.
Responding to reports of the clause, sporting director Max Eberl said: “Whether there’s a clause or not, if he wants to make a decision, he’ll make it. He showed that at Tottenham.
“Our wish is to be very successful with Harry this season and in the future.
“I think he’s making tremendous progress as a personality on the pitch at his age.
“The way he’s playing in this team, not just scoring goals but leading the way, shows that he simply wants to win titles. He can do that with us. We want to do that with him.”
Head coach Vincent Kompany was then asked for his thoughts and said: “He’s in an excellent phase.
“The last thing I’ll do now is open the door to another discussion.”
