Jadon Sancho is again being linked Borussia Dortmund as an emergency signing.
BVB lost new forward Giannis Konstantelias to an ACL injury in their Bundesliga-opening win over Hamburg and he will now miss much of the season.
Dortmund will need to find a solution, and many fans online have jumped at their former sensation Sancho.
Not only was the English winger one of the best players in the world during his first stint, but he’s also a free agent.
However, the signing has now been ruled out.
Sport1 reporter Manfred Sedlbauer explained: “The Borussia Dortmund bosses have around 30 hours left to find a replacement for Caneris Konateas.
“One thing is clear: Dortmund definitely want to make another move before the summer transfer window closes on Tuesday evening at 8:00 p.m. That’s why they are currently exploring every possible option — free agents, loan players, and more.
“Lars Ricken and Ole Buchs are putting their heads together. Their brains will certainly be working overtime. The two of them will therefore not travel with the team for the DFB-Pokal match in Hamburg against Oberliga side HEBC. Instead, they will do everything they can to present a replacement within the next few hours, before Tuesday evening’s deadline.
“Of course, Dortmund fans are once again calling loudly for Jadon Sancho. However — and as of Monday lunchtime we may disappoint some fans — there is currently no concrete lead regarding Jadon Sancho.”
Instead, Sky Germany report that Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri is a leading candidate.
BVB previously tried to sign the English attacker permanently.
