Despite being in the form of his life, Harry Kane shouldn’t be getting a Bayern Munich contract extension.
That’s according to former Bayern midfielder Didi Hamann who thinks Kane’s age is far too much of a barrier.
The 32-year-old’s current deal expires in 2027, and the club have failed to rule out a clause that allows a cut-price Premier League return next summer.
Even so, Hamann isn’t having any talk of an extension, commenting: “That would be insane. He’ll be 34 when the contract expires.
“You can’t extend a contract that still has 20 months to run.
“You don’t even know what 2027 means. It would be madness to even think about extending the contract of a player who will be 34 when his contract expires.”
He added of Kane: “At the European Championship, England won their games when Kane came off.
“Whether he scores against the best teams like Paris Saint-Germain or Arsenal remains to be seen.”
