Harry Kane is set to extend his Bayern Munich contract after the season.
The England captain‘s current deal expires in 2027 and both sides have regularly hinted at a renewal.
Now board member and former CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has given a timetable.
“The responsible managers in the operational area – as agreed – will hold talks with him sometime after the season,” he told t-online.
Rummenigge also confirmed that Kane had a release clause for Premier League teams, but let it pass, showing his commitment to Bayern.
“It’s well known that he had a release clause,” he added.
“He didn’t activate it, thus signalling that he would definitely stay in Munich.
“The clear goal is extending his contract.”
He added: “Bringing Harry Kane to Bayern Munich was an important coup in the history of the club.
“Under coach Vinnie, Kane underwent another transformation, from a striker who scored many goals to a playmaking striker.
“And that is very important for Bayern’s style of play.”
Olise update
Rummenigge also rubbished any thoughts of a mega offer for Michael Olise.
“In the future we will no longer sell any player we would miss from a sporting perspective,” he said.
“This unwritten rule still applies today. For a player like Olise, there is no price tag that would make us flinch.”
