The Bayern Munich and Florian Wirtz file remains open three months later.
Former Bayer Leverkusen man Wirtz chose to join Premier League champions Liverpool in the summer despite a very public pursuit from Bayern.
His agent and father later revealed they had the same offer on the table from both clubs, but Wirtz wanted to challenge himself in England, and was more impressed by conversations with Arne Slot.
Responding to the saga, Bayern supervisory board member Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: “I have to honestly say that I still feel sorry for Florian Wirtz.
“I think he would have been better off at Bayern Munich than at Liverpool.
“We could have signed Nick Woltemade. But I also have to say that FC Bayern would be wise not to indulge in all the financial madness.
“I’ve always said: we want sporting success, but with serious and solid funding. We have a top-level team.
“We’ll be back this year too. And if the three players currently injured (Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies, Hiroki Ito) return soon, we’ll have a great team.”
