If Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s punditry work wasn’t bad enough for AC Milan fans, his latest trip in the US has caused utter fury.
Ibrahimovic is meant to be plotting Milan’s summer with the team in complete chaos after a season where they missed out on the Champions League.
Milan sacked their coach, Max Allegri, plus the sporting director, technical director and CEO.
The men in charge of replacing them, advisor Ibrahimovic and owner Gerry Cardinale, are meant to be hard at work, but instead spent Sunday at the White House watching UFC.
Images of the duo posing for the cameras caused outrage online with numerous comments calling the pair ‘shameful’.
Practically, their time management and priorities appears to have already had a bad impact, with Ralf Rangnick rejecting Milan to stay at Austria.
Rangnick was said to be annoyed at how long Milan’s negotiations were taking, ending any chance of him joining as a director with Oliver Glasner as his coach.
Ruben Amorim is now in pole position to be the club’s coach, but it’s easy to imagine a scenario where he too gets fed up with the lack of professionalism from his potential employers.
Sweden also annoyed by Ibrahimovic
It wasn’t just Milan that were offended by Ibrahimovic’s latest act, but also his country Sweden.
The former striker missed their statement 5-1 win over Tunisia to watch UFC, and the team were asked about his snub post-match.
Jesper Karlström commented: “I think he should have been at our match.
“Maybe we’ve already shown enough to convince him.”
Mattias Svanberg added: “It would have been nice to have him with us, but we’ll see if he’ll be at one of the next matches.”
