Zlatan Ibrahimovic has gone quiet at AC Milan, and it may not be a coincidence.
The Red Bird advisor, who seemingly promoted himself to the role of sporting director, hasn’t appeared in the media in close to a month.
Initially out of action due to flu, he also hasn’t posted on social media for a month since he did an untimely interview with GQ while Milan were in turmoil.
On their second manager of the season, the team have also had numerous failures in the transfer market and the media have began speaking out against Ibrahimovic.
Gazzetta report that another key change has taken place – the Swede was initially at the forefront of a search for a new sporting director, but he’s now been sidelined.
CEO Giorgio Furlani travelled to the United States to meet principal owner Gerry Cardinale and move forward with the sporting director search on his own terms.
Ibrahimovic had already decided on Igli Tare for the role, but with that suggestion now in the bin, it appears that Ibrahimovic’s influence could be too.
