Constantly in the headlines at Real Madrid, Vinicius Jr is on a damage limitation mission.
The Brazilian was heavily blamed for Xabi Alonso’s sacking, and has been the target of boos from the Bernabeu which have only intensified after the Spaniard’s dismissal.
‘Vini‘ only has 18 months left on his contract, and reports conflict all the time over whether he would take Saudi money, or Madrid would want to cut their losses. In recent weeks Chelsea have even been linked.
Through it all Vinicius has stayed quiet, until last night when he spoke to the Brazilian media.
“I want to stay here for a long time,” the 25-year-old winger told TNT.
“There’s talk about my contract extension; I only have one year left, but I’m very relaxed about it.
“I trust the president, I trust myself. We have a very good relationship.
“At the right time, we will reach an agreement. We are not in a hurry. There is no problem.”
