After earlier reports of a Saudi Pro League offer for Vinicius Junior died down, it’s now been reported that the Real Madrid forward is open to the move.
Both Reuters and L’Equipe claim the Brazilian megastar refused to reject an approach from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, and has allowed them to talk to Madrid.
Madrid president Florentino Perez has rejected the talks out of hand, but Vinicius remains open to a deal that would see him pocket €200million-per-year for five years, totalling €1billion, plus bonuses.
According to L’Equipe, ‘Vinicius and his representatives are said to believe that such an offer should be studied carefully’.
Vinicius has a €1bn release clause in his contract, however, both AS and Relevo claim that Al Ahli are the team ready and willing to offer a fee far higher than the world record €222m PSG paid Barcelona for Neymar in 2017.
