Having arrived at PSG less than a month ago, Illia Zabarnyi has now addressed changing room tensions between himself and Matvei Safonov.
Signing from Bournemouth, the Ukrainian is now playing alongside a Russian, whose country invaded Ukraine in 2022.
With the teams still at war and Zabarnyi on international duty, he was asked about the conflict.
“In my country, a full-scale war has been going on for four years,” he said.
“The Russians are the aggressors trying in vain to destroy Ukraine’s freedom and independence.
“The war continues, and I have no ties to the Russians.”
He then added on Safonov: “As for my teammate, I must interact with him on a professional level in training and I will fulfill my obligations to the club.
“As long as the war continues, I fully support the total isolation of Russian football from the world.”
