AC Milan’s end of season has gotten even worse with a bombshell TV interview by Rafael Leao.
The winger is away preparing for the World Cup with Portugal, and has told national TV he’s ready to leave his club.
“I think I’ve already given everything I had at AC Milan,” he told Sport TV.
“I’m looking forward to a new challenge in a new league. And if that were to happen, I’d be very happy.
“It was a club that helped me grow a lot, that supported me in difficult times.
“Fortunately, I also managed to write my name in Rossoneri history, I think that obviously everyone has dreams, ambitions, challenges they want to face.
“The most important thing for me now is the World Cup. I want to have a good World Cup and be able to help my national team.
“And then, when the time comes, I will study the best options for the future of my career, to continue competing at the highest level in European football.”
Leao has long been linked to the Premier League, but looked set to stay at Milan after a tricky season.
However, like many of his teammates, he’s assessing his options after the club’s campaign ended in chaos.
Milan went from Serie A title challengers to out of the top four and Champions League on the final day.
In the aftermath head coach Max Allegri was sacked, as was the sporting director, technical director and CEO.
