The tide continues to turn on Vinicius Jr at Real Madrid, with Toni Kroos even admitting he struggled with his former teammate.
Vinicius has received numerous complaints over his behaviour since finishing runner-up in the Ballon d’Or voting, culminating in an almighty sulk at Xabi Alonso during a Clasico win over Barcelona.
The Brazilian has remained in the headlines for negative reasons all season, and Kroos has now admitted it was a problem even during his time.
“More than once I told him that he’d had enough,” he said.
“You feel that, due to his behaviour, the team can be harmed. It’s normal that he annoys: the opponent, the referee, or even the fans.
“As a team, you get the impression that everything turns against the collective because of what’s happening around him.”
He finished: “Many times I tried to calm him down during matches, so that he wouldn’t disconnect from his own game, because sometimes that happened.
“I always told him: ‘You’re so good that you don’t need all that.’”
