Bayern Munich have found themselves in such a bad spot that there’s even talk Thomas Tuchel could stay.
The former Champions League-winning Chelsea manager announced that he will leave Bayern in the summer after a disastrous 18 months at the Allianz Arena.
That looked like good news for both parties, but replacements have quickly dried up, with Xabi Alonso announcing his stay at Bayer Leverkusen and now Julian Nagelsmann extending his Germany contract until 2026.
That leaves few options remaining, and there’s even talk that one of them could be a stay for Tuchel after taking the side into the Champions League semi-finals.
Responding to those rumours, Tuchel comprehensively shut them down in his latest press conference, shaking his head as he said: “I have an agreement with the club!” stressing that he will leave at the end of the season.
Yet despite things seemingly deteriorating for Bayern, Nagelsmann could well still become available.
Sky Sports report that within his two-year extension, both parties have a get-out clause should Germany fail to make it out of the group stages at Euro 2024.
That still remains a possibility, even with Die Mannschaft appearing to be in decent shape during recent friendly wins over France and the Netherlands.
