Always keen to do the media rounds after a Bayern Munich game, Thomas Muller didn’t enjoy last night’s so much.
The Bundesliga icon scored in a 2-1 Champions League quarter-final first leg defeat to Inter, just days on from announcing his Bayern departure.
The news has dominated German football as Muller claims the club didn’t want to negotiate with him.
Muller moved up to outright sixth in Champions League scoring with his tap-in, and when speaking to the media he wasn’t too happy with the tone of questioning.
When an Amazon reporter asked if he would have started himself if he was a coach, he said: “An interesting question, but I’m not falling for that one, of course.
“Until the return match is played, it’s not about any sideshows, but it’s still a good question.”
Muller was then asked about the atmosphere for the first game since his departure was announced and got angry.
“Is this my farewell game or is this a quarter-final first leg?” he said.
“I want to talk about the game. I’m not here on a farewell tour. I’m just an athlete.”
