Jurgen Klopp may have turned his homeland against him for no reason by joining Red Bull.
At least that’s what Red Bull Salzburg managing director Stephan Reiter has suggested.
The former Liverpool manager stepped away from coaching last summer and trashed his reputation by joining Red Bull as their Global Head of Soccer on January 1.
RB Leipzig are detested by their Bundesliga rivals and regularly face protests ever since their 2009 foundation.
In fact, Klopp even found himself protested by former sides Mainz and Borussia Dortmund, but he perhaps isn’t having the impact many expected in the Red Bull world.
Salzburg’s Reiter said of Klopp at a business conference: “Our exchange, I have to be fair, is truly limited.
“We exchange ideas a bit. If we sign players, we’ll draw on his expertise.
“But otherwise, there aren’t that many points of contact. Certainly less than some people imagine.”
