Real Madrid have had a very good summer transfer window, but one more player would make it perfection.
Having signed Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dean Huijsen, Franco Mastantuono, and Alvaro Carreras, Los Blancos have massively upgraded their defence, leaving just one target left.
Cadena SER report that the only position Florentino Perez is left wanting to strengthen and that’s defensive midfield.
And there’s only one name too – that of Rodri.
Antón Meana explained: “Real Madrid believes there isn’t a number five on the market that fits what they’re looking for football-wise and with a price that the club presided over by Florentino Pérez can afford, or rather, is willing to afford.
“Therefore, the only name that truly convinces in that position is Rodrigo Hernández.”
“The only one who fits is Rodri, and it’s not a viable deal right now because of the cost, because he’s doing well at Manchester City, and because after the serious knee injury he suffered last season, we have to see him play.”
Madrid may well be done for this summer, but could go all-out for the midfielder next year.
“Right now it seems more complicated, unless Rodri becomes available,” Meana continued.
“It’s not a simple operation, but if City needed to sell tomorrow, picked up the phone and called Madrid to sell him for 100 million euros, Madrid would have the financial means to undertake the transaction.
“Therefore, we’re going with what we have right now. That is, with Tchouaméni, Camavinga, Valverde, Bellingham, and Arda Güler, who can also play in this position.”
