Dani Ceballos will not play for Real Madrid again.
The Spain midfielder, who has won the Champions League three times with Los Blancos, informed his teammates of the decision after falling out with head coach Alvaro Arbeloa.
Ceballos has one more year left on his contract after this season, but will spend the remainder of the 2025/26 campaign training away from his teammates before departing.
Marca report that he told them on Thursday: “I’ve asked the coach not to have any contact with me,” after an almighty falling out.
Ceballos has barely played under Arbeloa and reportedly addressed his position face-to-face after being left out against former side Real Betis.
The situation is now irreparable and Ceballos has decided to train away out of respect for his teammates who he doesn’t want to impact with negative energy.
Marca wrote: “Arbeloa and Ceballos had a conversation in the manager’s office at the player’s initiative.
“It was an unpleasant face-to-face meeting, which the club was informed of.
“The last thing Real Madrid wanted was to ignite another conflict, but, as Marca has learned, the club has decided to respect the manager’s decision, as is their custom in these situations.
