Real Madrid’s games have received numerous stoppages in recent weeks, namely over Raul Asencio, but this time it was Dani Ceballos.
Madrid beat Getafe 1-0 to keep the LaLiga title race well and truly alive, but there was an unhelpful stoppage as fans turned on the often-vocal Ceballos.
The reasoning has now been identified by the Madrid press, with Ceballos’ mouth getting him in trouble back in May 2019.
After a match for Sevilla, he reportedly told Sevilla’s coaching staff: “I hope you rot in the second division and disappear.”
