PSG face a season-defining week to start April, but if it was up to them things wouldn’t be so tight.
Luis Enrique’s side take on Liverpool in the Champions League last 16 on April 8th, then Ligue 1 title rivals RC Lens on the 11th and finally Liverpool again at Anfield on the 14th.
PSG have already requested that the Lens match be moved to give them a better chance of beating Liverpool.
Ligue 1 obliged in the previous round by moving a Nantes match and Paris hammered Chelsea.
However, this time they have more opposition in the shape of Lens.
Discussing the issue, their head coach Pierre Sage said: “We, from the ground up, don’t agree.
“From the top of the pyramid, we don’t agree. We played a French Cup match. It was scheduled for a Thursday (against Lyon). We had to go and play on Sunday against Metz.
“I understand that having more rest allows you to perform well. They confirmed that in their match against Chelsea.
“They’re a very successful club in several competitions. They also know the constraints.
“For our part, there’s only one match left. We shouldn’t have to put up with these things.”
We’re sure Liverpool will be happy to back Lens’ complaints…
