Luis Enrique wasn’t too impressed with the latest award for one of his PSG players.
Achraf Hakimi was named the African Footballer of the Year during the international break, beating Mohamed Salah and Victor Osimhen to the award.
It follows Ousmane Dembele taking the Ballon d’Or, something Luis Enrique was continually annoyed to be asked about in press conferences.
So when Hakimi’s gong came up, his tone didn’t change.
“I’m a little concerned because there’s a lot of noise surrounding the team and individual awards,” he said.
“However, it’s a team sport. You need the right mentality and to be ready to work as a team.
“It’s a different season because there’s a lot of pressure.
“And that worries me because I don’t want to dwell on the past, but focus on the future. Less pressure, and more focus on what we want.”
