Tragedy struck in Greece ahead of the Europa League with seven PAOK Thessaloniki supporters dying on their way to Lyon.
Local news report that a minibus carrying fans on their way to France collided with a truck in Romania.
Several more were injured and were treated at the scene by emergency services.
PAOK confirmed an incident had taken place, with president Ivan Savvidis saying: “An unspeakable tragedy has knocked on our door today.
“I am devastated by the unjust loss of young people, fans of our beloved team, who travelled to stand by our PAOK.
“I mourn with the families and millions of our compatriots. May God rest their souls.
“These children, the children of PAOK, are our children, they are members of a large family. And we do everything for our family and we do not leave anyone behind.

Around 2,800 PAOK fans are expected to travel to Lyon’s Groupama Stadium for the Thursday night Europa League tie.
