Bayern Munich fans definitely won’t care, but Oliver Glasner has dismissed any links with Germany’s biggest team.
The former Eintracht Frankfurt and Wolfsburg manager was reportedly one of Bayern‘s targets to replace Thomas Tuchel last summer but stayed at Crystal Palace and eventually won the FA Cup.
Now with links to numerous massive teams, the Austrian has dismissed Bayern out of hand.
At the Austrian Sporthilfe gala, where he was named Austria’s ‘Coach of the Year,’ he commented: “Someone claimed I actually want to be Bayern Munich’s coach.
“It amuses me when other people know what I want without having spoken to me.
“I follow the media relatively little. I’ve stopped following the media too much, regardless of victory or defeat, because I’ve noticed that a lot of nonsense is being written.”
Discussing the current hype around him, he added: “I hope I’m appreciated as Oliver Glasner, not because I’m successful. I, at least, appreciate people based on their character.
“For me, it’s like this: If someone is a good person, they’re a good person – regardless of whether they win or lose,” the 51-year-old explained.
