Having snubbed Barcelona to stay at Athletic Bilbao, Nico Williams is making sure everyone got the message.
The Spain winger was heavily chased by Barca for the past three transfer windows and this summer it looked like he may finally swap the Basque country for Catalunya.
However, he shocked everyone by not only staying, but signing a mammoth 10-year contract with Athletic.
Barca were the most aggrieved, though, and Williams made a comment during his signing ceremony which was quickly picked up by the Catalan media.
“I’m very excited. We have very ambitious titles at stake, like the Champions League,” he said.
“Everyone would like to play in it and there’s nothing better than doing it with the club of my life.
“I’d like to continue making history at San Mamés, with the fans and with my family.”
