Mauro Icardi was so embarrassed that he could only laugh.
The Galatasaray striker attempted to finish a tapped penalty in the Turkish Super Lig against Istanbulspor, but somehow missed an open goal.
The completely legal, but rarely used technique sees the taker tap the ball to the side, and teammate runs on to knock the ball in.
However, much like the famous Thierry Henry and Robert Pires incident for Arsenal, Icardi showed it’s easier said than done.
The former Inter man ran onto Kerem Akturkoglu’s pass, and somehow put it wide despite the keeper being on the floor and out of the picture.
The hugely-embarrassing moment came with the score 0-0, but Icardi went on to net the match-winner in a 1-0 victory shortly after.
