Jurgen Klopp is expected to name a massive 57-man squad for his first training sessions as Germany coach.
The ex-Liverpool boss will name his first ever national team on Thursday, and is expected to give himself plenty of breathing room before facing the Netherlands in the Nations League on September 24th.
For their four matches he can only field 23-men in matchday squad, but Sky and Sportschau claim Klopp and his assistants want to see as many players as possible.
They could also field two different sides given the huge workload of four games.
Klopp expected to call-up Loris Karius
The biggest headline is likely to be Loris Karius’ first senior Germany call-up.
The goalkeeper has been in stunning form for giants Schalke, helping them back to the Bundesliga and then putting in a string of fine performances.
Should he play, it would be his first appearance under Klopp since his infamous 2022 Champions League final performance for Liverpool where he made two costly errors in a 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid.
Klopp has been spending the weeks since his announcement travelling to numerous Bundesliga and other professional teams to meet players and make sure he’s on the same page with club coaches.
He’s also been meeting with players with dual nationalities to convince them to sign up for Germany.
Sky claim that a trio that are likely to be included are Bruges Nicolo Tresoldi (eligible for Italy), Eintracht Frankfurt’s Younes Ebnoutalib (eligible for Morocco) and Schalke’s Soufiane El-Faouzi (also eligible for Morocco).
