Jose Mourinho’s only been at Fenerbahce for five minutes and it’s already as entertaining as promised.
The legendary Portuguese coach has already steered his Turkish Super Lig side out of Champions League qualifying and complained a lot along the way.
Recently, he even took aim at Okan Buruk, the coach of Istanbul rivals Galatasaray, before the teams have even met in the league.
Referring to his rival coach, he said: “He doesn’t get a card when he goes four metres onto the pitch. I go one metre over the line and I get punished.”
Well, someone else who’s a big fan of controversy, Gala’s Mauro Icardi, has been more than happy to get involved.
“It’s interesting to see a coach with Mourinho’s status talking about something so insignificant,” the Argentine said.
“He wouldn’t do that if he was at a big club. Everyone knows the rivalry we have with them. They tried to stop us, but we were champions two years in a row.”
